ABOUT US 

The 1,000 Voice Inspirational Youth Choir is a vocal and transforming program impacting the lives of youth from ages 8 to 18.  It is more than just a choir...it's a movement:  a community of people coming together to create positive change with music as the catalyst and community service as an emphasis.

 

THE MISSION

To establish communities of 1,000 Voice Inspirational Youth Choirs throughout America and the world, giving youth their authentic voice and producing a healthy, bright, and promising future with the hope of reducing crime, drug abuse, violence, teen age pregnancy, suicide, and high school drop outs. We target children from various cultural and racial backgrounds who want to make a positive difference in their communities.

THE VISION

To create a new generation of leaders, entrepreneurs, educators, inventors and professionals who will be encouraged to dream and acquire the tools to reach their highest potential through music and singing.

THE PROGRAM

Classes will meet at various sites once a week, three times a month for an hour-and-a-half class. All local sites will combine once a month for a three hour class. Enrollment for the 1,000 Voice Inspirational Youth Choir is year round.

The regular class schedule will include the following:

• Stage Fright Workshop (10 minutes)      Youth learn stage-fright techniques by participating in games that facilitate their ability to be calm, release negative emotions, focus and be creative. This enhances their performance skills, not only in choir, but in life.

• DebraTone Vocal Training (10 minutes) DebraTone Vocal Training trains the muscles to work efficiently, so you can sing anything in any key without vocal strain, revealing an authentic voice at its best.

• Choralography (10 minutes) Choralography is a program that consists of small dance movements that help develop a sense of rhythm and anchor the meaning of the songs in order to enhance song presentations.

• Choir Rehearsal (60 minutes) Youth learn to apply correct vocal techniques while singing positive pop songs and training their ear to sing not only in pitch but in harmony.

CONCERTS, TOURING & RECORDINGS:

Participants in the 1,000 Voices Inspirational Youth Choir may have opportunities to tour with soloists, groups or ensembles. They will also have the opportunity to join additional 1,000 Voice Inspirational Youth Choirs in a variety of cities throughout the world.

Virtual concerts will enable simultaneous performances from choirs around the world.
